This came during talks held by Al-Fayez today, Thursday, with the Prime Minister of Romania, within the framework of his official visit to Romania at the official invitation of the President of the Romanian Senate, Elena Georgiou.

The visit dealt with bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, and discussed the current situation in the region, in the presence of the Jordanian Ambassador to Romania, Sufian Qudah.

During the talks, Al-Fayez stressed the depth of the Jordanian-Romanian relations, and his keenness to develop and build on them in various fields, saying: The relations between the two friendly countries are based on mutual respect, and everything that would serve common interests.

He pointed to Jordan’s keenness to activate bilateral agreements and increase trade exchange, economic and investment cooperation with Romania, in addition to the importance of signing more joint agreements to create broader horizons for bilateral cooperation.

Al-Fayez appreciated Romania’s positions in support of Jordan and the development of Jordan’s relations with European Union countries, especially in the economic and political aspects.

Regarding issues related to the region and its various repercussions, the Speaker of the Senate affirmed that Jordan is strong politically and in security, but due to the conflicts and crises in the region, and the large numbers of Syrian refugees on its land, it is facing economic difficulties that have affected the lives of citizens, and their difficulties have been exacerbated by the repercussions of the Corona pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war. , whose repercussions affected commodity and energy prices.

Al-Fayez called for Romania to have a greater role within the European Union, in order to increase the assistance provided by the Union to Jordan, increase investments and strengthen and activate the economic partnership.

Al-Fayez presented the Jordanian position on various regional issues, where he said that His Majesty King Abdullah II is constantly striving to resolve political and security conflicts and crises, wherever they may be, by peaceful means and in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, and in a way that guarantees peoples’ right to freedom, independence, security and stability.

The Speaker of the Senate appreciated Romania’s positions in support of the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II in terms of achieving a just and comprehensive peace for the Palestinian cause, based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions, as the only solution to achieve peace, which constitutes a strategic choice and necessity for regional and international security, and for Romania’s support for the Hashemite Custodianship of the Holy Places. Islam and Christianity in Jerusalem.

He also appreciated Romania’s commitment to supplying wheat to Jordan, and called for opening the Romanian market to Jordanian agricultural products, phosphates, pharmaceutical industries and Dead Sea products, and encouraging the Romanian private sector to import Jordanian products and export them to the markets of Eastern European countries, in addition to facilitating the entry of Jordanians into Romania.

Al-Fayez stressed that Jordan rejects any solutions in the region that transcend its national constants or affect the Hashemite guardianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, noting that His Majesty King Abdullah II constantly calls for an end to all crises facing the region and the world in accordance with political frameworks and responsible dialogue away from violence and killing. and destruction.

For his part, the Romanian Prime Minister expressed his country’s appreciation for Jordan and its support for its efforts and its pivotal role, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, in working to achieve security and stability in the region, stressing his pride in the high level of relations between the two friendly countries in various fields.

Chiuka praised the great efforts made by His Majesty King Abdullah II, in terms of ending conflicts and crises in the region, and ensuring the return of security and stability to them, through dialogue and finding political solutions and in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy.

He said that there is constant consultation with Jordan on various issues of common concern and everything that would strengthen bilateral relations, stressing Romania’s keenness to expand the horizons of bilateral cooperation with Jordan, and the continuation of taking all necessary steps to deepen relations between the two countries, and between Jordan and the European Union countries in all regions. domains.

In a related context, the Speaker of the Senate and the accompanying delegation met with the Vice President of the Senate and a number of members of the Senate and House of Representatives, and discussed with them aspects of the Jordanian-Romanian relations and ways of developing and building on them in various fields, for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples.

Al-Fayez presented the various challenges and current conditions that the region and many countries are going through, especially with regard to the peace process and the fight against terrorism, facing the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, the Russian-Ukrainian war, and ways to develop bilateral relations.

He praised the high level reached by the relations of the two countries, which are based on mutual respect and common interests, stressing the need to increase economic and investment cooperation between the two parties, and to build new economic partnerships. He also called on investors and businessmen in Romania to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in Jordan in the fields of medical tourism. Religious, public transport, energy production projects, mining industries and the agricultural sector, and work to increase trade and investment exchange.

For their part, the Romanian side affirmed their country’s keenness to continue the existing relations with Jordan, and to continue working with it in order to strengthen and develop the second relations, stressing the importance of activating joint parliamentary work, and coordinating positions on various issues of common concern, which are discussed in various international parliamentary forums.

They referred to the upcoming meetings between officials of the two friendly countries to discuss various issues that would enhance relations in various fields, especially economic, investment, agricultural and cultural.

On the sidelines of the official visit, the Speaker of the Senate and his accompanying delegation visited the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Center based in Bucharest, during which he listened from those in charge of the center to the nature of the center’s work and its objectives, which are training, education, information analysis, and the development and unification of faith for NATO countries.
