Tunisia on Monday “strongly” condemned an Israeli military raid against the Palestinians in the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
“Tunisia strongly condemns the military operations and the repeated attacks carried out by the occupying entity in the Palestinian territories, in particular in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, which have caused numerous deaths and injured dozens of unarmed Palestinians,” said a statement released by the Tunisian foreign ministry.
This is “a flagrant violation of the resolutions of international legitimacy, and of all international norms and human rights charters,” the ministry statement added, calling on the international community to put an end to the “dangerous escalation.”
In the ministry statement, Tunisia also reiterated its support for the Palestinian people’s struggle for the establishment of an independent sovereign state.
Earlier on Monday, the Israeli army launched a large-scale military strike on Jenin and the refugee camp, killing at least eight Palestinians and injuring about 80 others, according to figures issued by the Palestinian health ministry.
