The potential for a telephone conversation or meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky currently exists. This is reported by the Financial Times with reference to the Permanent Representative of China to the European Union Fu Cong.
“The possibility is not ruled out,” Fu Cong told the media when asked if there could be a conversation or meeting between Xi Jinping and Zelensky.
According to the newspaper, China’s permanent representative to the EU, high-ranking Chinese officials are in contact with their Ukrainian counterparts.
Other details on the interaction between Beijing and Kiev are not given.
