Canada’s Monet Chun avoided the ax at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship.
The 22-year-old Ontarian is tied for sixth after two rounds with a minus-2 score.
American Rose Zhang shot a round of 65 (-7) to take the top spot at 13-under.
Chun is the first Canadian to compete in the final round of the tournament.
Quebecer Brigitte Thibault could not avoid the cut during the first performance of the tournament, in 2019, and in 2021.
Ontario’s Savannah Grewal suffered the same fate in 2022.
The first 36 holes of the tournament were held over two days at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
All golfers will play at Augusta National in an official practice on Friday, followed by the final round involving the 30 players who avoided the ax.
