Kazakhstan sends 5,000 tons of fuel oil to Tajikistan as humanitarian aid

The fuel was transferred for the stable operation of the country’s important energy facilities. Kazakhstan sent 5,000 tons of fuel oil to Tajikistan as humanitarian aid, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

An order to provide humanitarian assistance to Tajikistan in the amount of 860.8 million tenge for the stable operation of the country’s important energy facilities was given by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

“The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan, Valikhan Turekhanov, handed over a certificate of Kazakhstan’s official humanitarian aid for 5,000 tons of fuel oil to the director of the Agency for State Material Reserves under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Nurmahmad Ahmadzoda,” the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry emphasized that the humanitarian cargo is a contribution to ensuring energy security and a manifestation of brotherhood and mutual assistance, which are inherent in the centuries-old relations between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, since 2006 the total volume of humanitarian aid delivered by the Kazakh side to Tajikistan in monetary terms has exceeded $44 million.
